First Avant Dig Saturday 6/21/2008

Ray McGrew, Henry deLinde and I arrived at Avant about 8:00 Saturday morning and started opening up the eastern most Pit 3.  Henry had to leave around 2:00 and Ray and I left at 5:00.  We had both of our trucks full of buckets and chunks of material.  We brought home 44 buckets and chunks with an estimated weight of 2500 pounds.  Most of the wavellite was a deep blue-green in color.  All most every large chunk of Bigfork chirt had vugs and streaks of wavellite or variscite through out.  Now the fun of trimming and cleaning begins.
